Day 15: Cupcakes

Cupcakes are delicious, and at my school, they are legendary. Cupcakes are sold for student council fundraising, are baked for class parties, and in my case, they are baked as a Friday tradition in my Spanish class! It all started one day when the French class was celebrating cake day and brought leftover cake to my Spanish class (the French class at that period of time only has four students). We devoured nearly half of the two cakes. It was scary. However, my Spanish teacher has a sweet tooth and thought, why don’t we make up a schedule in which the students take turn to bring in desserts every Friday? Prior to this, it had already been part of my Spanish class’s tradition to bring in dessert the day of or day near your birthday. On top of that, now we have cupcakes every Friday!

Today’s cupcake was huge but delicious. The person who brought it in was supposed to bring it in last Friday, but forgot, so her penalty was to bake two for each person. We only have twelve students, so it’s not much work. Regardless, she baked a big one and a small one. The small cupcake was a mini vanilla cupcake that had pink frosting and three chocolate chips. The big cupcake was regular sized with the same vanilla mix. However, on top of the cupcake was an Entenmann’s chocolate covered vanilla donut. Then surrounding the donut was a layer of red frosting and sprinkles. Finally, on top had one chocolate tootsie roll and one sour apple tootsie roll. The cupcake looked like an apple, but was definitely much healthier…

That was not the end of my cupcake fiasco today. At the end of Spanish class, I was heading to my final period of the day, math. My friend, who is in my math class, stopped me in the hallway and asked if I wanted a cupcake. How could I decline? She baked them for St. Patrick’s Day and sold half of them for her sophomore council. Luckily, I was offered one ahead of time. It had cake batter and chocolate frosting on top with green sprinkles. I saved that one for the bus. That was the end of my cupcake day, but I did have an apple Saf-T lollipop in math class because another friend of mine has his birthday tomorrow. It was a sweet day, but a little too sweet for my sweet tooth!

  1. Woah, lucky! I wish we had something like this is Latin! Those cupcakes sound soooo good, and I bet they are a great reason to look forward to the end of week. 😀

You guys are really lucky! I wish we did that in Latin @Vanilla Twilight! She also gave me a cupcake! When I talked to her telling her how good it was, I also mentioned that the frosting was kind of tangy, almost fruity, but she went on to explain that it was just the cream cheese!
