My extended family is extremely close-knit and I am thankful for that. We always have each others backs and we see each other almost every other weekend. I was strolling through pictures on Google when I found the one above. It states that “Family isn’t always blood. It’s the people in your life who want you in theirs; the ones who accept you for who you are. The ones who would do anything to see you smile & who love you no matter what.” This is probably the best quote to describe my family. Besides my blood-related extended family, I also consider many of my family friends as family. Many of my family friends are families who have a parent that were childhood school friends with my parents, or families that we became close to by attending Chinese school. Either way, we consider each other as families because vacations, weekends, and many parties are all spent together.
Today, my parents invited some family and family friends over to celebrate my brother’s birthday. He would be turning 12 on March 17, but because of scheduling issues next weekend, the only free weekend would be this weekend. I always have the best time with my family friends because they are mostly in between the ages of my brother and I. Last winter break, the six of us and our families went to Vermont together to ski. It was an annual event and I cannot wait until the next time we go up there. Well, today, we played ping-pong, mahjong, Dance Dance Revolution, Just Dance, and hide-and-seek. It was an intense, but fun-filled night, and I would do anything to see them again.
